DT Creation By Caroline Sherman; The Circus Tree

"Here is my second creation for the design team at Lisa Kettell Designs. For this piece I was inspired by Lisa Kettell's love for the circus, carnivals and all things kitschy and fun! If you look closely you will see one of her handmade cupie doll heads used for the little girl taking a ride on the elephant. 

She is having a great time at the circus drinking soda pop, and eating a cupcake all while still being able to hold on to her glittery balloons.

Keeper of the Sweets

It's time to share my next project for Lisa Kettell Designs!

This is what you need:
Lisa Kettell Designs cotton candy pink Charlotte doll head
Model Magic
acrylic paint in pink and peach
iridescent tinsel
candy stickers
assorted ribbon
cupcake ornaments
decorative button
admission ticket
glitter paint in green
micro glitter in gold and white/clear
small cage
white glue
hot glue

Cage
paint cage pink and let dry
glue green ribbon around base
attach candy stickers
paint green glitter onto different areas
glue large cupcake ornament to inside








Doll
mold a simple torso and arms out of model magic and attach to top of cage with hot glue, let dry over night then paint peach.

glue tinsel to Charlotte doll head, top with cupcake ornament
attach to torso with hot glue
add decorative button and ribbon to front of doll to create necklace
edge ticket with white glue and dip in gold glitter
hot glue to doll's hand
paint white glue onto arms and hair, sprinkle white/clear glitter





Tips:
Cupcake stickers can be used in place of ornaments
shredded packing material can be used instead of tinsel which can be found at craft and hobby stores
cages can also be found at craft stores, thrift stores and yard sales
detailed instructions on how to make cupcakes out of model magic can be found in Lisa Kettell's amazing book, Altered Art Circus.

Loving Sweet Pink Dollies!
Are you loving pink? Its that time of year when all the taffy, salt water, cotton candy sweet colors come back for the summer season. Think carnivals, fete's, birthday's and storybook parties. As a huge fan of pink and the sugary sweet colors of summer, I have pulled out some of the pinkest and sweetest parts from my embellishments line, to get you started on a summer of sweet fun.Most of my parts and embellishments come in a variety of colors and if they aren't listed in pink color, they can be ordered with pink color or details. Valentine and Queen of Hearts Swap Finals!
I hosted three valentine style swaps, we had a few late arrivals and some no-shows, so they didn't get out on a timely delivery, but they are all done, except for the Queen of Hearts Banner Swap, which I had to make up some extra banner pieces to take place of the missing ones. I cam currently attaching them to their ribbons now.

The ATC's went out today, the postcards will go out Thursday and the Banner out on Friday! So glad I hosted these swaps, so many talented people joined in on it!

Steampunk Charlotte Doll Wands!

What could be a better way then combining steampunk and doll into one project, the result: Steampunk Charlotte Doll Wands!

Each wand is made from my hand molded frozen charlottes, paper rosettes made from my scrapbook paper line (licorice stripes), masonite crown shape, mica flakes, seam binding, vintage sequins and tinsel, wood and some steampunk magic.
Each wand started with a paper rosette made from my scrapbook paper, cut into two 12 inch strips, folded, glue and turned into a rosette, resembling a wheel/circle shape. Then I jazzed up the crown shapes with mica flakes of various colors that I got from CHA, glued the glittered crown to the rosette, attached one of my flat back frozen charlottes (which are available in small and bulk amounts in my etsy store and at Piddlestixs).

Next I attached a wooden dowel, sequins or tinsel, and seam binding for bow. At this point I could add more ribbon, broken jewelry, clock parts, wheels, or edgy lettering to complete the piece.Here they are all grouped together!These rustic vintage wands were so fun and easy to make. Birthday Week!

Its been a wonderful Birthday week for Glenny and Me, the two of us are born a day apart, November 15 and November 16, the same year (will leave that part out, lol)

I love a good celebration whether its for a friend, family member or customer ordering party wares from me, being festive always keeps one upbeat and filled with smiles. During my Birthday week I have been making all types of party items from banners to flowers, hats, doll and embellishment parts and charlottes.

Today I am sharing with you: Candy, the Party Wizard. Candy is a party wizard from Wistica Woods, who enjoys baking sweet treats for her friends and family, Candy's favorite treat to make are pink moon cakes filled with cherries and vanilla, then coated in bright pink icing, did I mention her favorite color is PINK, AQUA and more PINK!

Candy and her friends were just invited to the Wizard Ball at Birdiebelle's Conservatory, this years theme is Candy Land, you can bet, Candy is excited about that. This years Wizard Ball Queen will receive a 6 month supply of cherry beans, cocoa truffles and pink pops.
Here is Candy all dressed and awaiting the arrival of her friends to the Wizard Ball. Her parents rented a Swan carriage for their transportation.

Candy was made from a variety of items, my fave part her glittered wizard hat. Candy will make a return as cupcake toppers and a party banner soon. Just as these charlottes made a return in cotton candy pastel pink, custom order for a customer!
