Birthday Week!

Its been a wonderful Birthday week for Glenny and Me, the two of us are born a day apart, November 15 and November 16, the same year (will leave that part out, lol)

I love a good celebration whether its for a friend, family member or customer ordering party wares from me, being festive always keeps one upbeat and filled with smiles. During my Birthday week I have been making all types of party items from banners to flowers, hats, doll and embellishment parts and charlottes.

Today I am sharing with you: Candy, the Party Wizard. Candy is a party wizard from Wistica Woods, who enjoys baking sweet treats for her friends and family, Candy's favorite treat to make are pink moon cakes filled with cherries and vanilla, then coated in bright pink icing, did I mention her favorite color is PINK, AQUA and more PINK!

Candy and her friends were just invited to the Wizard Ball at Birdiebelle's Conservatory, this years theme is Candy Land, you can bet, Candy is excited about that. This years Wizard Ball Queen will receive a 6 month supply of cherry beans, cocoa truffles and pink pops.
Here is Candy all dressed and awaiting the arrival of her friends to the Wizard Ball. Her parents rented a Swan carriage for their transportation.

Candy was made from a variety of items, my fave part her glittered wizard hat. Candy will make a return as cupcake toppers and a party banner soon. Just as these charlottes made a return in cotton candy pastel pink, custom order for a customer!

Handmade Pink Glass Glitter



For a few years I have been making my own crushed glass glitter using broken bottles, colorants and a crusher or tumbler.

For the Candyland Putz House Workshop and Event, I have made up several batches of glitter in sweet candy colors such as cotton candy pink, rosy lampshade, sugar plum, aqua bliss, Miss Blueberry, Divine Lemonade and more. Workshop attendees will get to use the glitters in their project and take some home.

What: A Winter Candyland Show andWorkshop Event
Hosts: Piddlestixs and Bell Barter Theater Presents

Every year I do a different themed early winter event. This year's theme is Candyland and its many stages of characters, vintage putz houses and seer sucker bliss. I have combined all the fees into one price so no kit fee! Hooray!

The added bonus: Students will become apart of the Winter Candyland Vignette at a 200 year old Cathedral transformed into a Whimsical theater for the past 10 years known as: The Bell and Barter Theater.

Students are encouraged to dress up in fun and whimsical clothing, and are welcome to borrow some costume and accessories to wear for the day. We will create vintage inspired Putz houses decorated with faux candies, seer sucker stripes and placed onto paper mache boxes. Our class setting will be one of the vignettes in the show, where passerby's attending the main event will watch us create and play within our own storybook world.

"Ten Days of Christmas, Post One"

Theme Today: "Cupcake Chic"

This new blog is dedicated to all projects, published/printed projects from me and Moonfaires World Guest Designers.
I'd like to start the ten days of Christmas with a theme I have labeled: "Cupcake Chic" which is a color palette I use to categorize creamy cupcake icing colors, pastels, new brights, wrapped in a 1940's to 1960's color scheme and style, set in a storybook sweet shoppe setting. There is room for fairytale style from the 1920s and 30's, and the Rainbow bright era of the early 80's which can be classified in this category as well. So can distressed whites, pinks and neutrals which when combined with a cupcake color, some peppermint stripes and cherry red, boom instant cupcake chic. Candyland stripes, sweet sprinkles, painted pastel metals, color aluminum, spun cotton, plastic foam, forget me knots, 1940-50's corsages, party wares from the 40s-60s, Kewpies, Celluloid Carnival, Fair and Send Away Dolls, Penny Dolls, Bisques, Cutesy Tasty Cake Dolls, Nancy Ann's, Campbell Kids, Revlon Dolls, Tin Toys, 50s Space Toys, vintage and frou frou prom gowns, feather trees, tulle trees, mercury glass, plastic charms, charm bracelets, rhinestones, honey comb paper and decorations, tinsel, tinsel/foil decorations, kitchy deers and stuffed animals, ice cream fountain sodas and shoppes, 5 and 10 stores, all these categorize inside "Cupcake Chic". I've been working back into this color palette and theme for quite some time, originally I was grungy in colors, moved to bolds, back to grunge, then to bolds, finally finding my home within this theme, my favorite color combos right now are aqua and pink, lemonade and violet, blueberry and violet, a pastel rainbow mix wth creams.


For Christmas this year I started in September, re-dying and painting my display trees a cupcake robins egg blue/aqua color, bringing them to Silver Bella, mixing them with all cupcake chic colors. For Tinsel Wonderland I mixed these same trees with tinsel colors, silvers and creams.At my house I opted for shine brite trees in the sitting room, one is tinsel silver, the other tinsel pink, keeping only vintage and vintage handmade ornaments on these two trees with aluminum foil rolled vintage garland and tree toppers.For ornaments I re-visted the bottle brush material for trees and wreaths which were transformed into ornaments and dolls, By simply bleaching and dying either vintage or new bottle brush trees you can really create some fabulous things which don't have to be reserved for just the holidays. The Charlotte Costume Party!Meet Queen Esmeralda, Queen Millie, and Harlequin Maude, look for Violet, The Candy Fairy and Sugar, The Mer-Cupcake Queen!Sugar The Mer-Cupcake Queen and Violet The Candy Fairy are the newest additions to The Charlotte Dollies, who are all getting ready to go to their Costume Ball Tonight and Tea Party Tommorrow.

Marionette Theater Workshop, It Finished the Candyland Theater!
Here are some previews of the finished Marionette Theater for my workshop at Zne Covenzione in California I call: Candyland Theater. My students will receive many of the doll parts needed to complete this project.

The only thing my students have to bring is a shoe box, we all have shoe boxes for our shoes right? I'll have a few extras on hand, not many, but some.

This piece is a normal sized shoe box, well I have big feet 9 1/2 lol, so its normal sized to me, then its completely transformed into a theater with movable parts and Marionette, the possibilities are endless and its a wonderful Green project using what you have around the house, in this case recycling a shoe box.I used loads of my hand molded embellishments such as my doll heads, and faux candies, sprinkled in sugary style glitters. Here is the back of the box, made with a sign template and homemade chipboard letters sprinkled with glitter.Here is Miss Nellie, ready to perform, along side of Plumette, her first performance at the Candyland Theater!Come Join Nellie, Plumette and Me at the Candyland Theater!
