Up-Cycled Magic!
I restored this old cabinet, it was originally an ugly black and gray piece. I painted it with left over paints from Lowe's: coconut white and a light salmon pink. I choose to paint the inside the coconut white.
The top right corner was missing a ledge corner, the center was missing 2 medallions and had no knobs.
I molded the left corner edge of the piece, then poured with plaster, and attached to the right corner using wood putty and a few layers of spackle, once dried I sanded it!
Next I made another mold of the 2 medallions, poured it w/plaster and attached to the center doors with clear caulk, then I sanded some parts of the whole piece to show the original black paint that was underneath.
Finally I went to Lowe's and grabbed 2 crystal cabinet knobs, then attached them to the top drawer of the cabinet and to the center door. Now it plays host to my jewelry boxes and jeweled treasures.
This is actually a simple project you can finish in a weeked with in-expensive materials. I bought the cabinet for $5 because it was damaged. The paint was $3 a can since it was left over paint, the knobs were $2 each, the mold compound was $10 with a coupon, the plaster of paris was $3, Spackle, wood putty and clear caulk were left overs from another project, total for finished fabulous chic piece: $25 including the tax for everything!
This is a project you can do to old bathroom or kitchen cabinets, visit a dumpster, local junk/salvage yard, surplus store, thrift store, rummage/garage sale, etc. for furniture to re-do!
Happy Weekend!

Inspired by Jules Verne!
Jules Gabriel Verne (February 8, 1828 – March 24, 1905) was a French author who pioneered the science fiction genre. He is best known for his novels Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870), A Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), and Around the World in Eighty Days (1873). Verne wrote about space, air, and underwater travel before air travel and practical submarines were invented, and before practical means of space travel had been devised. He is the second most translated author in the world (after Agatha Christie). Some of his books have also been made into live-action and animated films and television shows. Verne is often referred to as the "Father of Science Fiction", a title sometimes shared with Hugo Gernsback and H. G. Wells.
The following is a Jules Verne Inspired Necklace I made! I was inspired by all his novelties and sci-fi underwater adventure Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea!I addition to the necklace, I made a matching bracelet! Did you know that Verne wrote numerous works, most famous of which are the 54 novels comprising the Voyages Extraordinaires. He also wrote short stories, essays, plays, and poems.

This following is drawing of Jules Verne on the sea floor with fantastic sea creatures. Legend : "Gathering from the best sources authentic information about underwater world". Cover of "L'Algerie" Magazine, 15 June 1884, this is the drawing that sparked the inspiration!

Opening Day, Its Coming!
My favorite time of year, Baseball Season, Opening day for every team is beginning any day now, so get your fave team gear together, cuffs and a cheer, because Baseball Season is here...
This time of year also brings an influx of baseball Cuff aka B-Cuff orders in, all the ladies waiting to wear them to opening day games, from team fans, team wives, league ladies, celebs, you name it, everyone has their idea of what they want on their cuffs.
By Mid Summer I will have these cuffs re-produced on a much larger scale, currently I gut, cut, stitch, adhere, and jewel each and every cuff that I make down to the wrapping, the packing, the shipping and the certificates of authenticity, all done by me.
So once these B-Cuffs are done for me, I can concentrate on designing more things. They can still be customized by colors and teams as well and originals like I do now will still be available. I'll release 5 styles to start and add on every few months.
The cuffs in this post are some MLB cuffs for my MLB clients, and 2 Celeb cuffs as well, they will all be wearing theirs to their fave games and supporting their teams. I still wear mine to every Yankee Game I go to, its now considered one of my lucky talismans, lol..
Whose your fave team? Your fave player? What colors do you like?
Mine:
Fave Team: NY Yankees
2nd Fave Team: Baltimore Orioles
Fave Players: Lou Gehrig, Derek Jeter
Fave Colors: Pink, Aqua, Black
Let's all toast to a good Baseball season, wish all players a good game, safety and fun!
Happy Opening Day,
xoxo

Baseball Season Means Baseball Cuffs!
This is prime time season for me and the baseball cuffs aka B-Cuffs, I have been making these cuffs for years and for many team moms, wives, girlfriends and pals, from MLB friends to Little League friends, and Fans, my cuffs can be made customized to your team colors, team balls or personal balls from a family member.
All the baseballs I have in stock range from practice balls, MLB balls, used, grungy, vintage and new. Some are pink, some are hand dyed, some are team specified, designs and artwork, depends on the balls I have in stock at the time of order. Also note that I over several basic styles to make your decision easier, the Basic B-Cuff Style which is a basic baseball w/cream stitching, light color lining, a rhinestone Q for Queen of the Outfield, mini pearl border and additional crystals, this is the one main style for choosing.
The next style is the Shabby and Chic pastel cuffs, the next is grunge/vintage, another is basic stitching, no rhinestones or bling, team geared ones and some more options such as rock star edgy cuffs, artwork transfers, etc.
In addition to the baseball cuffs, its also tennis season too, so the tennis cuffs start coming in now as well, occasionally we have colored tennis balls in stock and can dye them as well. Here's an example of vintage and grunge baseballs one w/Texas AM on the cuff, the other basic red Q!All my cuffs come with a hand stitched label: LK meaning Lisa Kettell Designs, so you know its authentic and a certificate of Authenticity is emailed to each customer who purchases a cuff! These cuffs are Yankee themed colors and one is a hand stitched logo! Now many of my customers down south and especially Texas, love the bling and frou frou cuffs such as these, which I call Glamour Cuff B Style:For some New Orleans Fans:
Don't forget fave numbers and grunge:Shabby Sweet Boston Red Socks:
and sweet shoppe color:There are so many styles and ideas for you to choose, the possibilities are endless.
In the next few months the cuffs are getting another style added, contour cuff style, which bends the cuff to your wrist, this is going to be an option I recommend soon, as to not worry about size and measurements of your cuff with the clasps and jump rings. Like the baseballs the clasps all depend on what is in stock, we have some hook clasps, toggle clasps, lobster clasps, magnetic, flip over, etc. and they aren't always in stock, so please keep that in mind when ordering.
All cuffs are handmade and authentic, the cuffs and their project have been published over 50 times in the past several years, since then other versions have popped up over the web, please remember when purchasing my cuffs these are the original to my idea and there for like I mentioned earlier receive certificates of authenticity!
Also let's not forget the Tennis Cuffs, they are equally as stunning and perfect for your fave tennis star friend or yourself! Hope you enjoyed these variations of the cuffs, I look forward to your ideas and orders for your cuffs, any questions please ask!
