Silver Bella Part 3, Friday Night Soiree!

After a morning workshop, day of shopping and late lunch, I probably could have used a nap, but AnnDenise decided to keep going and finish up last minute details for the Vendor Night Event of Silver Bella.Now I could finally slip into my new 50's style dress by xoxo and vintage camisole jacket I just bought at Second Chance, add in the necklace I made from vintage wares, some strappy sparkly shoes, a bunch of hand dyed trees in yummy aquas and pinks, Altered Art Circus and goodies from my home workshop, and I was ready to open up the Vendor Night Festivities.

My theme for this year was what I call" "Cupcake Chic" which is the term I have come up with a few years ago which labels creamy cupcake colors, 40's to 60's pastel colors, sugar craft and storybook sweetness all wrapped up into one hence the name: "Cupcake Chic". The trees for this year where discounted trees I purchased which I hand bleached, base coated and spray painted Aqua and some pink. The tiny trees were bleached and hand dyed w/either koolaid dye mix or Rit Hot Water Dye Mix, 2 were spray painted w/creamy bright pink hair spray paint. (Visit the Art Glitter Site early next week for the bleach recipe and project.) The pieces I created blended into this color palette that I have been primarily working with over the year. I created Vintage Bottle Brush Tree and Flocked Deer Ornaments, Vintage Pine Cone Fairies and Ornaments, Storybook Toys, Confectionary Kids, Charlottes, Handmade Chic Dolls, Cupcake Toppers, Cupcake Topper Boxes, Cupcake Topper Dolls, Sugary Sweet Charm Bracelets, and more, plus I had on hand autographed copies of: "Altered Art Circus", which sold out, which I was so happy about. All the girls at Silver Bella rock, everyone made my night a magical and enchanting one. A special thanks to Teresa and her staff for all they did, Jo Packham, to the instructors, artisians, attendees and everyone who support what I do, my works, designs and books.

And a huge hug and kisses to my roomie and Buddy AnnDenise, you rock Crepe Paper Queen.

Silver Bella Part 2, Workshop, Shopping!


After a fun night in Omaha and Silver Bella, Shea surprise registered me for a Jennifer Murphy Workshop, that sneaky Shea and her mom are amazing, they gave me this beautiful tiny crown, last year Shea crowned me with a crown as well. They are my Crowning Tiara Girls, getting something from them is a pure treasure.
I have to say every year is pure inspiration at Silver Bella, your mind overflows with so many ideas and fun, thank goodness I bring my small notebook to write them all down.

Jennifer Murphy's Ornament class was just what I needed, such an amazing class, and amazing table buddies like Shea, her Mom and Nancy to name a few. As for Jennifer, she is a brilliant artist, her works sends me to a Land of Enchantment, the beautiful bear which sat at my table was so magical, I loved it, as for the project brilliant. She is a fabulous instructor and incredibly sweet as well.After the workshop we had our snowgirls together for a quick dance, then I headed back to the room to meet my incredible and amazing roomie: AnnDenise, my sister, I'm convinced. Love her to pieces.We headed for downtown Omaha to do some shopping and that we did, eventually running into other shop-aholics at Second Chance: Beth, Christine, Cynthia, Marlene and Nina.Okay, When it comes to playing dress up, I'm there, we all tried on the cutest vintage hats, clothing and accessories for over an hour, posing and smiling, having a good ole time, we looked ready for a vintage soiree. Well after all the trying on, I knew I had to have this vintage pink camisole jacket w/the daintest lace, ribbons and satin on it, a brooch, bracelet, pearls, dollie and other vintage goodies. The Camisole jacket would compliment my dress for later at the vendor soiree.Afterwards the 4 of us headed to Wheatfields for lunch, then back to the hotel to get ready for the vendor soiree. Silver Bella, Part 1, Thursday Nov. 12, 2009!


7:59 am flight from Newark Airport to Omaha, a plane filled w/many bella's waiting to start the artistic magic that was calling them in Omaha, NE. I was one of them.

Every year I treat myself to a new tradition on my birthday, that is Silver Bella, I couldn't think of a more magical and enchanting way to spend my birthday and with such great people.
When we arrived the shuttle scooted us over to the hotel: Embassy Suites, when I discovered my bestest friend and roomate AnnDenise would be arriving later due to an airplane issue. So all of us: Meleen, her family, Marlene, Heather, Deborah and Me went to lunch at Wheatfields, I love that place and started some antiquing at Second Chance.Second Chance
Deb's FindDeborah and I stayed behind and went for a stroll to Joe's for some grungy antiquing, the grungier the better for me, lol.Joe'sWith no roomies yet, Deborah, Heather and I headed for the Froggie Pub across the street and shared a drink or too, and wonderful conversation, while we awaited the arrival of our pals. After some time we headed back to the hotel, and I headed still dressed from 5am, lol to the Glitter Lounge hosted by Karla Nathan and her roomies. It is what I call the party before the party, the VIP Glitter Lounge, lol. Only I was missing my glittery outfit, since it was still in my luggage, lol, but Shea and her mom, let me fix up a bit in their room and we headed to the opening party.

Okay can I say the best cupcakes ever and bubbly in the glitter lounge not to mention such cute ambiance, I had a blast seeing old friends, meeting new and sharing in the laughter and excitement. Then the girls were off to orientation, I was off to get AnnDenise, check in and meet the other girls for dinner at Upscene, such a fab restaurant. When I opened the hotel room, Miss AnnDenise decorated the entire room for my Birthday w/banner, ribbons, gifts, and more, I nearly cried, AnnDenise truly made my birthday that much more magical, I mean she went out of her way, even after traveling all day, to bring a surprise to me, a true and genuine friend, I love her dearly and her talent continues to excite me.My Bday Surprise-AnnDenise
The surprises didn't stop all weekend, Beautiful Shea and her Beautiful Mom, showered me with love and gifts, these two woman are a gift in theirself, beautiful and have a beautiful spirit, not to mention talented, I mean I saw what they had brought to Silver Bella and almost fainted, seriously I almost did, lol. Sherry, Joy and JessiNow there is the one and only Sherry Williams, I love this girl, my Southern Diva, her presence is a gift in itself, she is the true meaning of beautiful and amazing, love this girl to bits and she surprised me w/ a gorgeous necklace which I will be wearing at Tinsel Wonderland in Dec., I can't wait to visit her in Georgia!Miss AmySo many amazing girls it could take me weeks to name them all: Karla who always hosts a fabulous pre-party and goes out of her way to make it that much more special, and she surprised me with the most gorgeous handmade tree that looks so vintage and chic. love it, like a fairy christmas tree. Jessi who hosted a fabulous Omaha Tour for the day, which I missed due to my late flight, I bet those gals went crazy at the other shops. Miss Kim who is by far incredible, she goes out of her way for everyone, including me when I stayed w/her in LA, I love this gal to bits, Meleen and her family are my extended family, I adore and love them all, always looking out for me when I'm there and here back at home, such a great group, her daughter is my art buddy, she completely rocks. Marlene Haveron, okay this is Queen Bee, she is my bestest buddy, I love her to bits, she goes out of her way for everyone, including me, I can't thank her enough. Jen who I might add surprised me with the cutest flocked Santa Ornament ever, she is a true beautiful doll, and when I come to Georgia I can't wait to see her, I know we'll have a blast.
