Preparing for the Carnival Soiree!
There is so much to be done before the Carnival Soiree, everyone is working hard to get things done, Albious Woodsby and his crew are winding the carousel, check each light bulb and detailing the elaborate horses. Albious' assistant Laurel is adding a special symphony to the organ hidden deep inside the core of the carousel!

Sherman Collings is gilding Phoenix the Lion's Carriage and Oiling the wheels of Garrison Shubert's Carriage. Garrison is the Lion Tamer for the Big Top Show and Elsie Shubert is the Lioness for the Show and the Carnival Soiree Celebration!

Over in the French Quarter of the Fairgrounds, the Human Marionettes can be heard practicing their lines, while Daphne the Pixie Wizard is over at Sophie's Dress tent, modeling her new costume.

Last Years Carnival Queens are trying on Soiree Outfits, the Candy-ologist are crafting diamond gumballs and the game staff is adjusting the Carnival Games located in the Carlisle Pavillion.

While I am busy sewing some soiree gowns myself, made from the most rare of materials, I am making the carnival hats and crowns, so every guest who comes through the carnival gate can get one. For the virtual Carnival attendees I have a few surprises for you, which I will unveil on March 14, 2009. Just be prepared to have fun, play games, share carnival, circus or soiree stories, artwork, recipes, party tips, projects and magic. Plus throughout the day I will be having giveaways as well.

I'll see you at the soiree!
Magic and Joy!

is anybody willing to swap a few poker chips for --- well - what do you want?LOL

I've been to every possible place this morning here in New Haven, and obviously there are no poker players here! Not in the dollar stores, not in the grocery stores, not in the TWO Goodwill stores.
I want to start working on my swap tokens, so I'm hoping somebody kind poker-playin' soul will help me out!
If you will come to my aid, please contact me at

I am reserving the date. It sounds delightful!

To decoupage I use regular white school glue then slowly add water stir as the glue disolves then when it's the consitancy of half and half you are good to decoupage away. In fact in the olden days that's what we used. Then Modge Podge came out at twice the cost of "Elmers" :)And one more little magic trick, if you want your medium to have that aged sepia look, disolve instant coffee crystals in it :)

Who doesn't love the circus and carnivals? Photos and images of years gone by make me swoon...the colors and the eccentric performers.....the carousels and the barkers. I would love to attend this soiree....I know my acrobats Anton and Roman love to perform so they'll be there too.
I saw this on KarenHarveyCox blog!
How fun!!

The event is all day for the morning risers, the afternooners to the twilight goers, the event has not set time or end time on March 14...I'll be adding stuff all morning and afternoon on my end, then visiting the other carnival goers.

Magic and Joy!

Another snow day for the girls...home again! So their minds are just turning and they are coming up with so many ideas on how we can participate in your Soiree...what a fun day, hehe! There will surely be sweets, clowns, juggling, and maybe even a few fairies visiting for the day. Yay,

Jamie :-)
