The Pumpkin Cauldron

Another enchanted creation for Halloween, this one is called: "The Pumpkin Cauldron". The cauldron project was made using a floral foam pumpkin, Pippa Bella embellishment from Cupieology Line, Lisa Kettell Designs, Pixie Wands from Lisa Kettell Designs, handmade/dyed bottle brush tree from Lisa Kettell Designs, glittered stars, vintage bingo tokens, and other magical supplies!
 
The Story:

Every year when the 12th day before Halloween arrives, Pippa hosts a series of magical events at her home in Waverly Hollow. She transforms her whole barn into a glowing pumpkin where magical carved beets, turnips and gourds hang from every nook and cranny. 

Night One is called: "Night of the Blue Moon Tree", here Pippa and her close friends put up a series of blue trees which are known to glisten in the moon light. Each tree is adorned with magical handmade ornaments and glittery stars.

Night Two is called: "Spellbinding Tea and Trees", This is the night where Pippa and her friends sit and tell ancient tales of magic and mayhem over a pot of blue tea as they sit around the decorated blue trees.

Night Three is called: "Badge of Caliber", Every year Pippa and her friends also known as the Blue Moon Society, engage in a series of magical sports against fellow societies in the area. Here the best of the best compete in games to win badges of caliber and the highest honor in the games: The Silver Cup.

Night Four is called: "The Winners Dinner", Pippa's land hosts the annual Badge of Caliber awards dinner. You will find a private fun fair, and 100 foot long table where guests dine on a delicious dinner and bevy of treats.

Night Five is called: "Potionology 101", for three hours Pippa and her friends share new potion recipes and test rare, almost forgotten ones, over hot pumpkin juice and sugared beet tarts.

Night Six is called: "Cauldrons Run", This is the night when the rarest herbs and flowers come alive and share their yearly secrets for a better harvest and town folklore that may actually be true. These herbs and flowers then cast a spell for blessings until they come back again next year.

Night Seven is called: "Pippa's Surprise Scavenger Hunt", here Pippa conjures up a scavenger hunt, hiding magical gifts in a variety of places. Each person gets a map and 4 hours to complete it, in order to locate their prizes.

Night Eight is called: "Unicorn's Flight School", Pippa and her friends are taught how to ride unicorns and pegasus instead of their brooms.

Night Nine is called: "Amulets of Protection Workshop", Here Pippa and her friends, make new protection amulets to ward off anything bad and protect them all year long.

Night Ten is called: "Harvest of Light", The annual harvest of lights carnival is held on Pippa's land, filled with magical rides including the Mermaid Lagoon Float, The Comet and Carousel of Magic rides, candy apples, caramel corn and pumpkin ice cream are always a must.

Night Eleven is called: "Halloween Wizards Dinner", Pippa's Uncle Woodcliff, invites highly recognized wizards across the land to a special ceremonial dinner at his castle located at the tip of Waverly Hollow, easily accessible from Pippa's underground tunnel located underneath her barn.

Night Twelve is called: "Halloween Masquerade", Here everyone in the land begins their night at Pippa's annual party to celebrate all things magical and Halloween.

After Halloween ends, Pippa keeps here trees up and switches their decor to get ready for Christmas in December and Wizard Month in January. Stay tuned for all the fun and adventures awaiting Pippa and You!

Enchanted Halloween Ornaments

Get ready for Halloween with Lisa Kettell Designs. With just a few days away from all the excitement of Halloween and the start of the Spell-A-Pa-Looza contest, I will be blogging all kinds of enchanting projects and stories to get you excited.

Over the past few weeks I have been creating like mad, insane I tell you. Today I will introduce you to a new project incorporating embellishments and product from Lisa Kettell Designs Line of products.

This series of projects I am showing you today are made using glitter wood cutouts as an ornament base. I layered each one with various elements from the Lisa Kettell Designs Line and a few other companies product.

Violet's Bat Costume is a fun ornament made using a wooden glittered bat cut out, Violet embellishment from Lisa Kettell Designs, Scrapbook glitter cut outs from K & Co, Metal Owl Charm and Ribbon! The violet embellishments and the black wood glitter bats, both of which are in the artfire store to help make your own version.

Vampire Bats in Pumpkin Land! A wooden pumpkin cutout w/glitter, Kewpie Bat embellishment from Lisa Kettell Designs, scrapbook glitter cut outs, ticket from K&Co, Vintage bingo letter from 1930s and ribbon! Most items available in the artfire store today to make your own! 
 

Skulls in Oz! A wooden skull cutout w/glitter, New Tin Man embellishment from Lisa Kettell Designs, small hose clamp, and ribon! Most items available in the artfire store today to make your own!  

Mer-Owl Bat! A wooden bat cutout w/glitter, Mer-Owl embellishment from Lisa Kettell Designs, scrapbook glitter cut outs, ticket from K&Co, and ribbon! Most items available in the artfire store today to make your own! 

Make Your Own:

Materials:
-Glittered wood cut out of choice (skull, bat or pumpkin), Lisa Kettell Designs
-Embellishment of choice (kewpie bat, tin man, violet or mer-owl), Lisa Kettell Designs
-Scrapbook paper embellishments (ticket, glitter cut outs) K & Company
-Ribbon
-Glue: hot glue
-Tools: glue gun
-Other: mini nose clamps, wood bingo tokens, metal charms

Directions:
1. Choose wood cut out of choice, hot glue your embellishment of choice from Lisa Kettell Designs
    onto an area of the wood cut out. 
2. Hot glue a metal charm, wood bingo token, scrapbook paper embellishments to the cut out.
3. Finish with ribbon.

Another version of the bat ornament using the tin man

For the Skull Ornament I hot glued a mini nose clamp to the tin man embellishment.
For the Pumpkin Ornament I hot glue a wood bingo token to the center of the pumpkin cut out.

These ornaments can be hung on a Halloween or Gothic tree, in your studio or home to enjoy all year long.

The Magic Pumpkins of Oz

Magic Pumpkins of Oz are pumpkin wand sticks I created as a tribute to the 75th Anniversary of the Wizard of Oz, the book; Return to Oz, Halloween, Wizards and Pumpkin Picking.

Starting today through October 31, I will periodically be posting fun and whimsical Wizard of Oz type projects to celebrate 75 years of the classic movie, in addition to other themes such as Halloween, Wonderland, Cupie and Lisa Kettell Designs projects.

As for this project its extremely easy to create and a perfect recycled project using leftover paper straws and crepe paper streamers from a party, last years harvest floral picks or fruit picks of choice, scrapbook paper, floral wire and glue, that's it.




Materials

• Paper straws, navy blue, Aardvark Straws
• Pumpkin floral pick, Nicole Crafts
• Crepe paper streamers, blue green color, lime green color
• Oz scrapbook paper, Graphic 45
• Scrapbook paper, Crate Paper
• Glitter scrapbook paper, AcMoore
• Floral wire, white
• Star punch
• Glue/Tools; hot glue gun, hot glue sticks, scissors 

 Directions For Wand Base

1. Insert stem of pumpkin floral pick into the opening of paper straw, hot glue in place.
2. Punch stars from glitter paper using a star punch of choice.

 
 Directions For Wizard Hat

1. Cut a 5 inch by 5 inch square from scrapbook paper of choice.
2. Now cut square in 1/2 for a triangle shape.
3. Roll the ends of the triangle in to form a cone, secure with hot glue.

 Directions For Finishing the Wand

1. Attach the wizard hat to the top center of the pumpkin wand.
2. Cut a 12 inch piece of crepe paper from streamer, fold in 1/2, attach to hat base, repeat until desired amount of crepe paper fullness is reached.
3. Cut a piece from the Oz scrapbook paper, attach to hat base, tilting slightly for a whimsical effect.
4. Insert floral wire to the hat point, secure with hot glue, wrap around hat, secure with hot glue at base, twist ends for more whimsy.
5. Randomly attach the punched stars around the floral wire with hot glue.

 
Now your wands are ready to spread some magic and if you are lucky they might just transport you to wonderland.

Tips/Tricks

• Visit my You Tube channel to learn how to pleat, fold and crimp crepe paper for embellishing.
• You can use all types of fruit picks for this project to works for any season, like apples, pears, strawberries, large cherries, plums, lemons, limes, or gourds, all will work for this kind of project.
• Use discarded toys, vintage cake toppers, plastic novelties to make fun wands for kids or parties.
• Insert floral flowers, mistletoe and more in red or green paper straws for holiday decorating or table toppers.
• If you aren't a hot glue lover, try using a thick glue of your choice.
