Altered Poker Chip! APC's!
Here is an example of an Altered Poker Chip aka APC's, a concept I made for a project in my new book Altered Art Circus, called: The Traveling Bumbelina's.
Currently I am hosting a swap in The Faerie Zine Flickr group, called Carnival Tokens.
In this swap you will alter 2 poker chips and get 2 poker chips back, with a Circus/Carnival theme.
For the original project: Traveling Bumbelina Coins and its Coin box, you can see it in my new book!
Contact me if you want to join the swap, deadline to sign up is March 15, 2009!

lisa, i'd like to hear more about your class that you are teaching at the visual arts center of NJ. i told my friend about it as i thought it'd be a fun thing for us to do togehter. we also have a mutual friend, in AbbieRoad - isn't she a sweetie?
ReplyDeleteThis class at the visual arts center is going to be fun, We are going to create vintage books with faux gilded covers, remeniscent of regal opera books, each page is going to tell a story of your adevnture in Doll Land or Story Book Land, the pages will be 3-D with handmade dolls sewn/glued to each page.
ReplyDeleteWe will embark on a mixed media/1920's doll illustration, 1920's Dennison doll making, book binding, altered art techniques, distress techniques.
I'll be supplying most of the supplies, along with goodie bags, a some other surprises, revealed at class.
I'm working on the rest of the various examples: Silhouttes with glitter and creamy colors against lettered writing and German Crepe paper doll book example, the painted version, etc.
I love Abbie, she's the best!
Hugs!

Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI was in Barnes & Noble last night browsing through the craft section. I almost squealed with delight, when I saw your book. I took it home and love it! I was just sitting in my wing chair, sipping my coffee and reading about where you get your inspiration.
This book is gorgeous, you did a beautiful job with this and I am so inspired. You know Lisa I have been following your work ever since I met you on flickr a while back. I have watched you become so accomplished and do all the right things.
You still honor you mom, which I love. You still seem so humble and you continue to create enchantment. You share and ask us to come along on your adventure.
Thank you for the inspiration. I will be posting about your book, and your most recent swap. Oh, I think Pink Saturday would be a perfect day to post it.
Have a lovely day. I wish I still lived in Lawrenceville, because I would be signing up right now for that class.
Karen
Lisa,
